Mortgage Refinancing Articles

From time to time, Christine Carter, President of E-Z Mortgage Refinancing writes articles pertinent to mortgage loans and real estate. Below is a list of articles she has recently written. Her views and opinions on the subjects of mortgage refinancing, trends in interest rates, the current and future rate of inflation, macro-economic conditions, the price and availability of oil and gasoline, housing prices, new home construction and other subjects are not necessarily shared by mainstream media outlets, the US Federal Government, and the host of this website. Her views are expressly her own.

Beware of Mortgage Refinancing Traps.

Some lenders use devious methods to attract new customers. Know those tricks to avoid becoming their prey.

The mortgage lending business is highly competitive. And that, my dear reader, is an understatement. It is like saying that the Pacific Ocean has many gallons of water in it. Even Donald Trump this week decided to enter the mortgage arena with the hyped up launch of Trump Mortgage from Las Vegas.

With literally thousands of companies all competing for a finite number of borrowers, the temptation exists to use tricks, gimmicks, and even outright deceit to obtain more home purchase or mortgage refinancing customers.    More>>>

Beware of Predatory Lending

Shockingly, federal law does not define predatory lending. When it comes to protection from abusive lenders, don't count on your good old Uncle Sam for help. Nope. The best way not to lose that fight is to get informed. Know the big dog's tactics and protect yourself from them in advance.

Here are three tactics that I've seen that fall within my definition of predatory lending:     More>>>

Adjustable Rate Mortgages - Like Playing Financial Russian Roulette

During the past two decades, borrowers have enjoyed a general environment of declining interest rates. This has been a blessing for borrowers, while it has been a curse to a certain group of people such as retirees living on interest income.

Back in the early 1980's, mortgage interest rates were at record levels in excess of 18%. However, with each passing year, the country saw a gradual decline in interest rates, albeit there were a few hiccups along the way. By 2004, interest rates on home mortgages had declined to 40-year lows, bottoming out at slightly over 5% for a 30-year, fixed-rate home mortgage.   More>>>

US Dollar Resumes Decline, Higher Inflation and Interest Seen Ahead

Washington, DC    April 24, 2006

The United States Dollar fell against most major foreign currencies again today. While that may be of absolute insignificance to most Americans, it certainly shouldn't be.

Domestic interest rates have a direct inverse correlation to the value of the currency. It works like this:    More>>>
